We'd signed exclusively to TWAH! so it was time to record our second CD "Fire" at a studio in Hamburg which was an incredible experience. Joshi and the team at White Noise helped us to make a hard hitting folk album and one that helped us to take our songs to even more countries. This is the building with the studio in...I think it was the top floor..we did so much carrying of instruments and bags up to top floor flats in Germany! (DC)

The local papers didn't like this one. Folk bands weren't supposed to look serious! (ST)

But we were. (ST)

But not THAT serious! But we were gigging and travelling most of the time and there was an army
of people helping us along the way. We decorated every venue, we even had a booking from a
Reading promoter at Alley Cat Live. (ST)

Advertising "Wob" on stage, recommended listening. Wob's a lively singer guitarist who sang on Burning Boats, was in Blyth Power and has several great CDs.

Cropredy, Aug '97.
What a buzz, but sadly only a 30 min spot while people were coming in. Still we ganed several new friends from all over the world and it was our biggest festival appearance in England...so far.
Cheers Peggy! (A Elridge)

My hero!
Around this time we got a grant to play in schools and villages so we were able to play to younger audiences. This was how we got to know about Rural Touring schemes putting arts projects into villages. Places and schools like Charlgrove, Camerton, Coombes and Hailey were always wonderful to play at. (PP)

Cliff had to leave to concentrate on his storytelling and in stepped Miranda. A wonderful voice, and the addition of double bass gave us a whole new dimension (again!) It also meant that we could perform songs like High Germany again.

Joined on stage by Marco and Christian of Lack of Limits from Oldenburg. very good friends of the band, they even play some PG numbers. Damian had the honour of dancing in the audience to "Devil's Away" and joining them for their version of "Jump to the Left" They are getting everywhere in Germany and coming to the UK next October.

Effeltermuhle, 96. A festival for campers with temperatures at -18 degrees. Luckily we played and slept inside. Damian is playing there this January 27th with local band and great friends, Llyn Y Morinion. (PU)

This is the way to get warm! (Graham Snook)

Another festival in Germany, this time hosts of Llyn Y Morinion. We first met them at a festival at the frozen water wheel place, Effeltermuhle and have carried on from there!
They have now been to the UK three times via Vox Pop and have even visited the lake in Wales that bears their name! Kismet Hardy!

As you'll see by the presence of a Dulcimer, Tony had left to concentrate on his successful drum teaching and Maclaine Colston had joined us on Dulcimer and Drums. Wierdly, he had played in a heavy metal band called Pressgang about 12 years previously in Bristol. (GA)
