Damian and George go Pop Art, whilst hanging around waiting to play at the Alternativ Club in Lubeck for the first time. Little did we know that we would see a lot of Lubeck , being the home of our German record label TWAH! (PU) |
This was the time when we could pack out any Reading club but no promoter would take us on. So we just ran our own gigs at places like the Granby (above Christmas Eve 94) People had a lot of fun by the looks of it.(ST) |
I just like this one, tuning 9 string guitars ("Give us a note, George")! (ST) |
Did Imogen know that she is making the piano fly?
Hot, sweaty and chaotic gigs (ST) |
Oliver's Bar in Gosport. Pete Chegwyn is one of the few English promoters to present a wide range of folk music. We were starting to go up in the world and George got known as the "flying accordionist" Before the accordion George used to balance on Damian's shoulders brandishing a huge pirates flag and being freed from keyboards and playing festivals with scaffolding was too much to resist. |
Playing on the street was always a part of our touring schedule, here we are outside a huge record shop in Hamburg. This kind of thing didn't happen very often in Germany and we quickly got to meet our audience. |
Somehwere in Germany (sorry, I can't remember) and who is that orange-haired rapper at the back singing "Donkey"? Yes Johnny had left to concentrate on his own songs and band to be hurriedly replaced by ex-Morrigan bassist, Cliff Eastabrook. |
Cliff was hurled into the excitement of hectic touring in Germany and a trip to Texas all within the space of a month. He's now concentrating on Storytelling. If you missed him performing "Merrily Merrily" with the band then you really missed something! (A Elridge) |
Our second visit to Holland, Zundert. We've driven all night to get there to be met with marvellous hospitality and a copy of the local newspaper with a picture of four handsome young men! So we were four...Imogen had gone to Ireland to learn more tunes and ended up holding loads of sessions with a far broader range of material than the average tourist targeted session. She's playing lots and has her own band. |
